What do I need to make this recipe?
- 3 red beets, boiled (2 if bigger size)
- 4 hard-boiled eggs
- mayonnaise
- 4 potatoes, boiled (my potatoes were small, so I used more)
- 1/2 lb herring fish, without bones (I get herring at European supermarkets; there are grocery stores that also carry herring, you can also use more or less than a pound, your choice.)
- 1 Tbsp green onion, chopped
How to make Herring Fish and Vegetable Salad:

- Boil beets, potatoes, and carrots in one pot until they are fully cooked through.

- Boil eggs for 5-7 mins.

- Chop up the green onion.

- Chop up the herring fish into very small pieces.

- After vegetables are boiled, cool them down in the refrigerator or on the countertop.

- Get a shallow dish in which you will be making the salad.

- Peel and grate potatoes onto the bottom part of the dish.

- On top of the potato add the chopped boneless herring fish.

- Spread 1-2 tablespoon of mayonnaise on the herring, then sprinkle green onion on top of mayonnaise.
- Grate peeled carrots on top of the mayonnaise and onion.

- On top of the carrots grate hard-boiled and peeled eggs
- Peel and grate red beets on top of the eggs, spread mayonnaise to cover the beets, Enjoy!

This salad is a traditional Russian salad that has fish, and all kinds of boiled vegetables. Its presentation makes it almost too pretty to eat!

- Spread 1-2 Tablespoons of mayonnaise on the fish, then sprinkle green onion on top.
- Grate the peeled carrots on top of the mayonnaise and onion.
- On top of the carrots grate hard boiled eggs.
- Peel and grate red beets and add on top of the eggs.
- Spread more mayo to cover the beets. Ready to serve!
