Zebra Cake

Ingredients

    • ½ can Sweetened Condensed milk
    • 1 cup sour cream
    • 2 cups white flour
    • 3 eggs
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • 2 Tbsp cocoa powder

For the cream:

  • ½ can Sweetened Condensed milk
  • 200 g butter, softened

Directions for the batter:

  • In a bowl of a stand mixer, mix together 1/2 can of condensed milk, 1 cup sour cream, and 3 eggs until the batter is evenly mixed.

  • Then add 2 cups of flour and 1 tsp baking soda and mix again.

  • Grease an 8-inch cake pan and pour in half the batter. 
  • For the second half of the batter, add 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and mix well.  Pour that into another 8-inch greased pan.  Or, if you don’t have two pans you can bake them one at a time.

  • Bake both the layers for 20 minutes each at 400F.
  • Let the layers cool, then cut each one horizontally in two.

How to make the cream:

  • Beat 200 grams of softened butter on high speed until fluffy, then add 1/2 can of condensed milk and mix well.

  • Now you can start putting your cake together.
  • Optional Step:  If you like your cake moist, drizzle each layer with sweetened milk and let the layers absorb the liquid for 5 minutes before putting them together.
  • Place bottom part of the chocolate layer on a serving dish and spread with cream.  Place white layer and repeat the process until you finish the layers.
  • Spread the cream on the top and sides of the cake.
  • Decorate the cake with chopped toasted walnuts.
  • Let stand for 5-6 hours before serving.

Enjoy with coffee or tea!

  • Then do chocolate, cream, vanilla cream until all the layers are finished.
  • Cover the entire cake in cream and decorate with chopped toasted walnuts.
  • Let stand for 5-6 hours before serving then enjoy with coffee or tea!
