Kid Friendly Juicy and Easy Chicken Kebab Recipe

Tender, crispy, and out of this world delicious. That’s what these Chicken Kebabs are. This recipe is so easy to make, you’ll absolutely fall in love with it.

Whenever I pass by a Meditteranean or Middle Eastern restaurant, I almost always have to order myself a plate of chicken kebabs. I love the perfectly charred flavor, the tender meat, and the beautiful melody of spices. 

But the problem with that is this: 

my kebab cravings don’t come with a warning. 

I’m not always near a place where I can buy fresh, delicious kebabs. And to be honest, take-out orders can be hit or miss as well. So instead of always bringing them home, I’ve tried making them.

And I blew myself away. I’m not exaggerating. 

These chicken kebabs are everything I always crave. I can control how spicy I want them to be and even what oil to use. I am able to cater to my family’s taste buds. The best part? I can make double the quantity for half the price I usually paid at my favorite restaurants. 

Finally, I love that these kebabs are breaded. Yup, you read that right. I add a coating onto the tender chicken pieces to give an extraordinary crunch you never knew you needed. Yes, most kebabs you buy are skinless. They don’t have any additional coatings either. And though I love those too, the crispy breading just always outshines.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken thighs (or mix chicken breast and thighs)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 6 skewers
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup of bread crumbs
  • Trader Joe’s seasoning (optional)

How to make Chicken Kebab:

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Take a plate or a cup in which you will soak 6 skewers.
  • Mince 1 clove of garlic and combine with 1/2 cup of water. Pour into an oven-safe dish.

  • In a small bowl combine 1/2 teaspoon of pepper and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. You could also add a pinch of your favorite chicken seasoning.
  • Cut 1 pound of chicken thighs into cube size pieces, add into the salt and pepper, and mix until all of the meat is seasoned.

  • In one plate whisk 2 large eggs.
  • On another plate put in 1 cup of breadcrumbs.

  • Heat up 3 Tablespoons of olive oil in a pan.
  • Put meat on skewers.
  • Dredge in whisked eggs.

  • After eggs, dredge the chicken in the breadcrumbs.

  • Add to the chicken skewers into the heated pan with olive oil. This part is just for the color of the chicken shish kebabs. Do not cook them through.

  • After the chicken has gotten the golden-brown color, place it into the oven dish in which you added the garlic and water.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
