- 1 kilograms of apples, about 6-7 medium sized apples.
- 1 cup of sugar. Less if using sweeter apples.
- Grate apples on a thin grater.
- In a medium saucepan add the grated apples. Keeping the heat on low add 3/4 cups of sugar or 1 cup if using sour apples. You can add less at first, add more sugar to your taste.
- Keeping the heat on low, and stirring occasionally cook for 1 hour.
- After an hour turn heat off and put in jars.
