What Do You Need to Make a Creamy Stuffed Mushroom Appetizer?
Well, mushrooms of course! You can use any sort of mushrooms that you like. I use white mushrooms or crimini. Use a damp paper towel to gently clean each mushroom.
Onion: Yellow onion.
Olive oil: Or any oil you usually use.
Cheese: Mozzarella or cheddar cheese work best here, or a mix of both.
Sour Cream: To make it creamy.
Garlic: Brings out more flavor and has numerous health benefits.
And just a pinch of salt to season.
What do I need to make this recipe?
- 8 oz white mushrooms (or any kind that you like)
- 1/2 yellow onion
- 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 cup cheese, shredded
- 1 Tbsps sour cream
- 2 cloves garlic
- pinch of salt
How to Make Stuffed Mushrooms with Onion and Cheese Appetizer:
Preheat the oven to 350F.
Prep the mushrooms: Take the stems off each mushroom. Chop the stems and add to a medium bowl.
Mix: In a medium-sized skillet over medium heat, add onion with olive oil and saute until onions are clear. Add in the caramelized onion, chopped mushroom stems, minced garlic, and shredded cheese with a Tablespoon of the sour cream and a pinch of salt.
To Fill: Stuff each mushroom cap with the onion mix.
Bake: Place each mushroom on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes. You may garnish with fresh chopped dill.
